Keep your Elf on the Shelf busy this holiday season with housekeeping tasks!
Our Elf on the Shelf, Buddy, came back a few nights ago. My children know when our Christmas tree goes up, Buddy the elf will be back the next morning. Like most moms, I love the first few weeks of having Buddy the elf around. The kids are excited every morning and search for him like I wish they'd search for their hat and gloves before school. That being said, a few weeks in, I find myself scouring Pinterest for fun and easy ideas because I've run out of ideas or I forgot to move him for the third day in a row.
This year, I've been extra frazzled trying to stay afloat with daily housekeeping tasks. The kids help out around the house by setting the table, picking up dirty clothes, dusting, emptying the garbage, and mailing letters. I thought why not have our Elf on the Shelf Buddy do some simple housekeeping tasks?
Elf on the Shelf Ideas
Checking the mail Elf on the Shelf - We live pretty rural and the kids love nothing more than checking the mail. What is cuter than Elf helping out with that?
Vacuuming Elf on the Shelf - My children love to help vacuum. It's pretty bulky but if I set it up they can run it over the upstairs carpeting. Set up the vacuum and make it appear that your Elf is vacuuming!
Recycling Elf on the Shelf - Every evening after dinner while we are loading the dishwasher and clearing the table the kids take the recycling out to the garage for me. Your Elf will love doing it too!
Laundry Elf on the Shelf - My kids don't help with laundry as often as I'd like but then again I'm pretty OCD on how I like it done. If your kids help with laundry or you would like them to start, have Elf help, too!
Taking out the garbage Elf on the Shelf - Need some help taking out the trash? Have Elf show the kids it's not that bad!
