Turn your boring old clipboard into something fun with this easy paper craft!
I love color. Probably a little too much. Whenever I can paint a wall in my house with color, I do. When I shop, I tell myself I'll stick to neutrals and always end up grabbing something pink or red, or even orange and teal! Sometimes I see an all white home and think to myself, "that's what I want. I want an all white set of dishes." And then I get to the store and am immediately drawn to color. And the idea of having that clean, simple white look disappears.
I found a piece of colorful scrapbook paper (imagine that) and wanted to do something with it so that I could enjoy it, but I couldn't figure out what. And then I found this old clipboard at a local church rummage sale (for a quarter!) and realized it was perfect for my new favorite piece of scrapbook paper! I absolutely love my new paper craft! It took just a few minutes and every time I use it, it makes me smile.
You'll need a few simple supplies to create this unique clipboard paper craft:
- A dingy old clipboard - we found this cute half size clipboard at a rummage sale for a quarter!
- scissors
- your favorite 12x12 scrapbook paper (we grabbed this from Hobby Lobby)
- mod podge
- foam brush
- damp rag or paper towel
First you'll trace your clipboard onto the back of your scrapbook paper. Then you'll use scissors to cut it out.
Place that piece of paper onto the clipboard and draw lines on the paper where the clip rests. Use those lines as a guide and cut out the paper so it fits under the clip.
On a protected surface (try wax paper), apply mod podge to the top half of your clipboard. Affix your paper and add mod podge to the bottom remaining portion of the clipboard. Smooth the paper with your hand removing all air bubbles and excess mod podge.
Use a damp cloth to wipe the mod podge from the edges of the clipboard. Set aside to dry completely.
This cute clipboard paper craft has changed my life! Not only is is bright and cheery, but it's very easy to find. Plus, I love the smaller hard surface for writing my to-do list or grocery list while watching a great Neflix series.
