Our cinnamon roll flower recipe is perfect for Sunday brunch or just because!
I love when the seasons change! It begins with the time change and what seems like "extra daylight" just makes me happy. Then the snow melts and the sun seems to make the days seem even longer. We get a crazy burst of warm weather and my kids are outside when I realize it's 7pm and we haven't even had dinner! The changing seasons are really enjoyed by all!
One of my favorite things to do in spring is make fun and colorful recipes at home! This time I took the semi-homemade route and made a cinnamon roll flower for us to enjoy one sunny Sunday morning! These would be perfect for an Easter or Mother's Day brunch, too!
My kids love it when I make these flowers because they enjoy adding sprinkles or mini chocolate chips to the center! And for some reason they always save that cinnamon roll for their dad!
How to make a Cinnamon Roll Flower
This recipes uses refrigerated tube cinnamon rolls, making it a quick and easy recipe!
Begin by separating all of your cinnamon rolls and placing one in the center.
Shape the remaining cinnamon rolls in the tube into rounded triangles. Press each flat edge of the triangle next to the center.
Repeat until you have a cinnamon roll flower shape.
Bake as directed on the package and let cool for about 5 minutes. If you ice the cinnamon roll flower too soon, it will be a runny mess!
Divide your icing into small bowls and tint with food coloring. I like using soft gel paste to color my icing as it gives vibrant colors and doesn't thin the icing.
Ice the cinnamon rolls with the colors of your choice. Add some sprinkles or mini chocolate chips in the center.
To serve, you simply pull off a cinnamon roll and enjoy!
