Paper Plate Envelopes are easy to make and can be sent in the mail!
Here at CraftCreateCook, Erica is our paper plate expert. She seems to be able to make anything out of paper plates! From Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts to Animals, Erica has the paper plate crafting figured out. Erica's Wacky Melon Pen Pal craft gave me inspiration. So I thought I'd give it a try making paper plate envelopes.
A high school friend and I often send each other's kids small gifts for holidays, in between and just because. Since I saw her daughter was having lots of fun in soccer and her son started playing t-ball, I had to send them a paper plate envelope to fit that theme!
I tucked some melt and pour soap, a wood project and a candy bar into the paper plate envelopes and sent them from Michigan to Colorado and they made it there just fine! Not crushed, falling apart or broken! I was so excited and so were the kids!
How to Make Paper Plate Envelopes
Materials:
- Large Paper Plates
- Toys, candy or gift items to fit inside the plates
- Markers
- Hot Glue
Directions:
- For each envelope, you'll need 2 paper plates. Decorate the outside of one of your paper plates. Use the other paper plate to add your return address as well as the address of the recipient.
- Place one paper plate onto a flat surface and set your goodies inside. Carefully place hot glue on the edge of the paper plate and place the other plate on top to complete the paper plate envelope. Press firmly to adhere and double check to be sure there are no openings.
- Take your envelopes to the post office to mail!
- Wait for your recipient to let you know how thankful they are for your surprise!
It was quite affordable to send these packages (under $3 each) and my paper plate envelope recipients were super happy about the fun mail and the surprise inside! Their mom sent me these photos!
