St. Patrick's Day Cards for Kids to Make

Top o' the morning to you! St. Patrick's Day is a time to wear green, grab your shamrocks and lucky clovers and send St. Patrick's Day cards to all your friends. The kids will love making these easy cards, using paint AND food!

My kids love being creative, and the messier, the better. But my kids also love anything they can create with food that allows them to sample the treat! These St. Patrick's Day cards are a perfect combination of the two! So grab a few fun supplies and use your imagination to send some luck this St. Patrick's Day!

How to Make St. Patrick's Day Cards

Materials:

Large Marshmallows
Small Marshmallows
Rubber Bands
Paint Tray (or plate)
Green Paint
Paint Brush
Glue Stick
Card Stock
Envelopes
Markers
Paper Trimmer

Directions:

Prepare your card stock according to the photos:

Card Stock was cut to 8.5 "x 5.5" and folded in half for the actual card.
Front Card that was painted measured 3.75" x 5".
Envelopes used were A2 Announcement Envelopes or 5-½ bar envelopes

Take three large marshmallows and set them on a table. Wrap one rubber band around the marshmallows (probably twice) until secure. Make adjustments to the marshmallows as needed. You’ll need to make sure they are flat so the paint will stick to them.
Repeat with four large marshmallows to make a four leaf clover. Do the same with the small marshmallows. These can be a little trickier. I’ve found that the thinner, smaller, no-so-tight rubber bands work best.
Dip one end of the marshmallow clover into green paint and press or stamp onto a piece of paper.
Using a paint brush, add a stem. Set aside to dry and repeat for as many cards you’d like.
When dry, assemble your cards. Fold your large paper in half and use a glue stick to affix the small card on the front. Add rainbows, decorations, and text with markers.
