DIY Upcycled Crayons Craft

You're going to love our DIY Upcycled Crayons Craft for those broken crayons you just can't seem to throw away.

I have a bunch of empty lip gloss and chapstick tubes that I've saved hoping one day I would reuse them for something. One of the best containers to have are the EOS balls, they are colorful rounded chapsticks that make having dry lips fun, well about as much fun as dry lips can have.

I have seen a lot of tutorials on using empty EOS balls and filling them with your own chapstick recipe, and thought an EOS container would be just as much fun as upcycled crayons. Something you can put in your purse that the kids can use at restaurants, a large crayon great for toddler hands and even the big kids love using the rainbow colored crayon.

They are just as fun as I pictured. Grab those empty containers and pick up those broken crayons and head on over to the kitchen.

How to Make Upcycled Crayons

Materials:

• Crayola Crayons
• Empty EOS Containers
• Knife
• Glass Measuring Cup

Directions:

1. Clean out your empty EOS containers with soap and warm water, making sure you remove the little pizza piece with a fork, and let dry completely.
2. Carefully score your crayons down the middle with a knife, remove the wrappers, and break each crayon into smaller pieces.
3. Add a mix of your of your broken crayons to your measuring cup and microwave on high for 2-3 minutes or until wax is melted (caution the glass and liquid crayons will be very hot).
4. Press the pizza shape onto the top of the EOS container and carefully pour your liquid crayon mixture into the top of your container (do not try to press it onto the top when the liquid crayon is already in the top per my trial and error) so it covers the inner part of the pizza (this will hold the crayon onto the container).
5. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes. Put more liquid crayon into the bottom mold and screw your lid back onto the bottom making sure your pizza part snaps back into place. Set back in the freezer for another 10 minutes or until completely hardened.
6. When you remove from the freezer and unscrew the lid your crayon will be rounded and ready to use by holding onto the bottom half.
