It's about that time for Elf on the shelf to make his first appearance of the year and this DIY Elf On The Shelf Troll Wig will be a perfect way to welcome him back.
My son doesn't know it yet but this will be the first year we are introducing Elf on the Shelf. He's had it in his classrooms at school before but I thought it would be fun to do at home after seeing all the great ideas on Pinterest. And since we saw the new Trolls movie, this Troll hat will be a perfect way for us to introduce him. And, since you'll have all the materials it would be extra awesome if your elf brings your kids a matching Easy No Sew Troll Wig.
You will only need a few things and a few minutes to make this super cute fuzzy hat:
- Pen
- Scissors
- Hot glue/hot glue gun
- Felt Santa hats
- ¼ yard fuzzy faux fur
- Cut the tops off of 3 of your felt hats, cut a line from the bottom to the top to open your hats
- Glue the side of your 3 hats together like pictured. Now make sure the direction of your hair is facing upwards and turn your fur over.
- Trace your hats onto the back of your fur and use your scissors to cut your fur wig out (make sure to cut along the backing of the fabric not right over the fur). Hot glue the hats onto the back of your fur and hot glue the side seams together of your fur wig.
- Let your wig set and place onto your Elf's head.
