I get super excited when the seasons start changing and different holidays start creeping up. It gets my creative juices flowing and things like Frankenstein Sugar Cookies start popping out of my oven.

Anyone else love Frankenstein's look? He's big, green, and this one is yummy. I wanted to make something my son could take to school for his Halloween party and sugar cookies are one recipe your can turn into just about anything. Most schools and teachers have a healthy snack only rule, but they usually let it slide for birthdays and holidays, so these Frankenstein cookies are perfect.

The cookie dough recipe itself is super easy and doesn't require a lot of work.

Now the decorating is just as easy and a little more fun. Even the kids can have fun making them. Everyone loves having fun with Wilton Sparkle Gels and Candy Eyes! Draw on some hair, add some eyes and a face and you're ready to eat!

Frankenstein Sugar Cookies

I get super excited when the seasons start changing and different holidays start creeping up. It gets my creative juices flowing and things like Frankenstein Sugar Cookies start popping out of my oven.

Ingredients

• 1 ½ cups softened salted butter
• 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 5 or more drops green gel food coloring
• 4 ½ cups all purpose flour
• black icing
• large candy eyes
• ¼ cup melted chocolate chips
• ¼ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie pan with a piece of parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, soften your butter by placing it in the microwave for 30 seconds.

Add your sugar to the softened butter and mix for about 3 minutes with a hand mixer.

Mix in your eggs, vanilla extract, and green food coloring.

Add flour, one cup at a time until you have a thick and crumbly dough.

Form your dough into a large ball and roll out onto a lightly floured surface.

Use a butter knife to cut your dough into 2 ¾" x 4" rectangles and careful move them to your baking sheet.

Bake for 12 minutes and let cool.

After your cookies have cooled, use your black icing to draw Frankenstein's hair onto the top of the cookie, by outlining it then filling it in.

Place a small amount of melted chocolate onto the back of your candy eyes then stick them onto your cookie, right below the hair.

Draw on Frankenstein's mouth and draw a scar by one of his eyes with your black icing.

Now dip the bottom of your chocolate chips into chocolate and place one on each side of the cookie for Frankenstein's bolts.
