You will love these fun back to school supply ideas for mom!
It's almost August and back to school sales are starting to pop up and I'm cringing just thinking of the thought of school starting already. I think this summer has been the busiest I have ever been as a mom. Between running the kids to and from day camp, swim lessons, tutoring, going out on the boat, going to the beach, running into town for ice cream and other countless trips, I. Am. Exhausted.
Seeing all these back to school ads coming out isn't helping either. I ran into Walmart last week and got sucked into the back to school section. I do LOVE office supplies and all things related so I grabbed a few odds and ends for the kids to keep at home: Washable Crayola Markers, Crayola Crayons, Crayola Colored Pencils, Ticonderoga pencils, and a few notebooks. You can never have too many markers and colored pencils at our house. Mom, errrr, the kids love them and use them constantly.
So, I got to thinking, with the kids going back to school what are some back to school supplies for mom? I put a list together:
Amazon Prime - yes, you get FREE 2 day shipping but you can also watch TV and movies! It's totally my new Netflix. I have Netflix, too and Hulu but the more the merrier and I can watch TV without feeling guilty or worry that the kids are within ear shot. Not a huge TV fan? Snag yourself some new books to read during your down time!
New Planner or Journal - something to take notes, jot down thoughts and ideas or just simple reminders. A new school year always means a fresh new start at our house and I like to be prepared for the months ahead.
Travel Coffee Mug - I am constantly making and taking coffee with me during morning drop offs and I often use a regular coffee mug. Yes, I'm crazy and yes, it spills. A lot. This year, I'll be investing in a nice travel coffee mug (or 2) so I don't have to mop up spilled coffee as we pull into the school parking lot.
Instant Pot - Have you tried one of these yet? If not, you are missing out! Think slow cooker but in only 30 minutes. Running short on time? I always, always, always forget to turn on our slow cooker OR I forget to unthaw the meat and then it's not ready in time for dinner. With the Instant Pot I don't have to worry about those things and we have dinner on time, every time.
Chocolate & Wine - It's only noon you say? No worries! A glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away. Ok, maybe I just made that up. It seems like a pretty good saying though. Sometimes it's just nice to have a glass of wine or a piece of quality chocolate before the kids get home or after, and relax for a minute or two before running to after school activities.
New Laptop or Tablet - I work from home and I'm always eyeing up the newest tech goodies that catch my eye. I love my Mac Book but when I'm catching up on a good book I love using my Mini iPad to read books or scroll through Facebook posts.
