This faux marbled pottery pot will add a splash of color to your home decor! This simple and quick DIY project will have you smiling in no time!
I love DIY projects, crafts, and really anything that involves a paint brush. And since I love crafts and my husband loves organization, I decided to make us both happy and give my make-up brushes a home. Usually my brushes are laying on my dresser, stuffed in my make-up bag, or lost (I'm sure you can relate). But if you don't have a ton of make-up brushes, you could certainly turn this pottery pot into a really cute pencil holder for your desk, or pick up a potted plant next time you're out and deliver this to your neighbor.
I started this pottery pot project by painting a terra cotta pot with a few coats of white acrylic paint with a foam paint brush, drying completely in between coats.
When the pot is completely dry, fill a large bowl half full with water. Make sure you are using a bowl larger than the pot so you can put your pot into the water. Try using a container from the recycling bin, not your best plastic, or an old ice cream pail. Now pour a small amount of your favorite colored nail polishes on the surface. I used two colors, but you can certainly use more! And any brand of nail polish will work, so grab those fun colors the next time you see them on sale!
Hold the top of your white pot, and carefully dip the sides into your nail polish water. Turn your pot to create different designs on each side. Set your pot on a paper plate to dry.
Once it's dry, get your organization on! What will you put in this marbled pottery pot?
